Good summary! Add in Prof Bent Flyberg 'How Big Things Get Done ' of fat tailed risks of 1.0 for solar and >2 for nuclear. Dr Paul Dorfman Mark Nelson Will Shackel.
It's not anti-nuclear class war. It's pragmatic.
Better outcome. Less emissions, faster, cheaper.

Australia media full of conservative opposition spruking nuclear. Admit they want to delay renewable energy and continue coal.
What's the story with China? Supposed growth is an s-Curve plateauing. China regulators seeing rise of WWS and stopping nuclear?

Many think the change is fossil to renewable energy.
Bigger disruption is from corporate to individuals.
In Australia, rooftop is >22GW. Total 100 utility is 40GW.
Usage is 8 (low) to max 28GW.
So during midday rooftop solar provides most.
It's the shoulders (6pm) wind & fossil.

David Crowe on this morning said we don’t know when taxpayers will get their money back on government’s Future Made in Australia policy.

When are Australians getting their money back on the $10 billion in taxpayer subsidies paid to the fossil fuel industry each year?

A falsehood promoted by pro-nukes, anti-renewable energy (e.g. LNP politics in Australia) is China's rapid build-out of nuclear. (only 5%)
Applying multiple S-Curves aka Tony Seba @rethink_X techniques of adoption rates.

Most anti EVs don't realise how much more efficient EVs are.
Half a single car garage of solar panels powers a car driving 15,000 km a year (Aust average).
The energy to boil a kettle for a cup of tea will power an EV 1.5km.

Robotaxis are not a new concept. Viewing introduction in 3 ways.
1. Technology
2. Economics
3. Politics and belief systems.

1. Technology. Works. How much better to humans? At least 99.9% today. Maybe 2 nines by 2025.
2. Economics .
a) road fatalities and hospitalised. $AU30

Models don't take into account the reduction of aerosols over western-central Europe and underestimate regional warming by ~0.5 °C!!

And summer warming by ~1.0 °C!

Exacerbated summer European warming not captured by climate models neglecting long-term aerosol changes

There's a study in Adelaide, a city of 1m in South Australia of morning and afternoon peak travel and peak hour congestion.
Turned out only needed 15% surge only in am. Not pm. And all the journeys during the day were covered.
Australian have over 2.1m cars per household.

Claiming costs of price decrease with multiple SMR reactors is hopium.
Minimal cost decrease. Simply not enough supply chain to bring the price down with Wright's Law.
Were there a 10,000? Maybe Dutton or Will should read How Big Things Happen. Prof Bent Flyberg.

Europe demonstrates reduction in emissions, and nuclear reduction.
Why would Dutton promote ineffective strategy?

Given that nuclear produced the same TWh in 2023 than 2003 - 2 decades earlier. Someone must like the past, like rock and roll, line dancing, and nuclear.

USA 40,000 deaths and 400,000 (est) hospitalised.
Australia has 1400 and 38,000 hospitalised. Family trauma. Every year.
Robotaxis 99.9xx safer.
Deaths drop to <1%?
Aust cost is 20% of health budget. No more hospital waiting lists. Free health.
Will regulators block?

Well worth the listen even if Saul got you backtracking,😂 but lost the bet by talking about first.
1. Fossil fuels - 60% of energy wasted
2. Focus of consumer and small business for rapid electrification.
3. Buying 20 years of electricity using solar is deflationary.

USA ICE vehicles in decline over past decade. Fully electric eating their lunch.
James' graphs always good
Total ICE vehicles declining.
As Prof Ray Wills and Autoline both point out. Somehow there's a data bypass in the mainstream media to view data.
