I’ve heard this talking point from Caths forever. But the Catholic Church, on issue after issue, is closer to liberal consensus than evangelicals. It’s nice to have a theory but reality is the Bible thumpers are more orthodox across the board.

Jesus’ identity as the true and ultimate Israelite means the eventual salvation and restoration of the nation—not Israel’s irrelevance. The Representative Head restores the corporate people. See Isaiah 49:3–6; Romans 15:8.
