We conducted an experiment in F2 this week to help us to learn about the function of a plant stem🌱 We were amazed to discover that the coloured water had transported right up to the petals and changed the colour of them!

Year 2 have been reading the story ‘The Secret Sky Garden’ and have been inspired by the flowers from the story to make wire sculptures in the style of Georgia O’Keefe. We sculpted the flowers, used clay to make a base for them and added the colour to make a colourful garden!

What a fabulous day we’ve all had in Year 2 at Wentworth Woodhouse! We have some very very happy and tired children! Keep a look out for more photos to follow!

These 2 children were celebrated today for their fabulous maths - not only could they name some of the 3D shapes that we were exploring this week, but could talk about their properties too!

F2's caterpillars arrived this week, we can't wait to watch them grow and change into butterflies over the coming weeks 🦋

Our trip to Robin Hoods Bay was unexpectedly cancelled today. Hugely proud of this set of pirates for their resilience and joy.

We have been fascinated in FS2 watching our tiny caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies. We've cared for them and observed each stage of their life cycle. Now the butterflies are ready, it's time to set them free and let them begin their journey in the great outdoors!
