Today HPARD joined Houston Fire Dept, Memorial Park Conservancy, Houston Arboretum, Abbie Kamin, to learn updates on the fires at Memorial Park. We are thankful to Houston Fire Dept's Arson & Wildland groups for their dedication to keeping Houstonians safe!

The Mayor is proud of the Houston Fire Dept Department for making Houston a safer city, especially with their quick response by the Arson Bureau to the recent fires at Memorial Park. No injuries were reported and firefighters protected one of Houston’s most treasured green spaces.

A firefighter from Station 28 was injured tonight while battling a house fire on Wedgewood in northwest Houston. She was transported to Memorial Hermann TMC where she is awake and alert.

A man was arrested after two HFD firefighters were burned battling an arson fire in Sunnyside early this morning. A captain remains hospitalized; a probationary firefighter was treated and released. Derrick Cox charged with felony arson. Our thoughts are with our injured members.

HFD responded to 5910 Southwest Freeway at 11:56 p.m. Friday for a 2 alarm warehouse fire. The fire was fought from outside of the structure.  The fire was under control by 5 a.m. No injuries or transported patients. HFD Arson Bureau is investigating. 📸: Rachael Van Oranje
