Autumn Statement: along with many I welcome the announcement of a rise in Local Housing Allowance to the 30th percentile. This is much needed and, as it did in 2020, will increase the number of homes affordable to people on benefits and help prevent homelessness. (1/x) 🧵

There has been a sharpe increase in the number of employers paying real living wage in London since 2021, resulting in over £200m of extra wages for low-income Londoners. Businesses are stepping up. BrewDog should reconsider.

I agree with this. Of all of the umbrella terms this one gets my goat the most - lumping so much of the world together in to conjure solidarity that doesn’t exist

How can employers help to tackle in-work poverty? In-work poverty is a major issue in London. More than half of all Londoners in poverty are employed. Social Market Foundation's proposed benchmark is an important step to encouraging businesses to do more to support their employees. 👇👇

The events of the last week have been nothing short of deplorable. The far-right, racist & Islamophobic violence that we've seen on our streets and online has no place in our society. We stand in solidarity with the migrant & minoritised communities who have been targeted. 1/3
