no sign of any basking snakes at Channells Brook but plenty of Slow Worms about The Warden

We will be doing a litter pick In Horsham Park as part of the Great British Spring Clean next Saturday 6th April meeting at the bandstand by The Conservatory Café @ 10:00am. Everyone welcome including kids & families! 👨👩👧👦 #trashtag #greatbritishspringclean Keep Britain Tidy

Frosty start on the Reserve but beautiful all the same! Hundreds of birds around mainly winter thrushes. Not a bad office for the day...#OurDay Horsham District Council

The Warnham chickens were reluctant to rise from the nice warm coop this morning! Water defrosted, food topped up, couple of fresh windfall apples from the Orchard eventually tempted them out! #OurDay Horsham District Council

Early start for Countryside Warden Andrew meant a defrost of the Land Rover before heading out with Horsham TCV Green Gym volunteers to Owlbeech Woods #OurDay Horsham District Council

Horsham Green Gym are busy this morning at Owlbeech Woods. Today they are birch pulling in Old Heath to improve the heathland for rare species such as Nightjars and Woodlarks. Great effort! #OurDay Horsham District Council

Wow 😮 the volunteers have just found a lovely Grass Snake on the heath. Slithered off to find somewhere to hibernate hopefully. What a beauty 🐍 #OurDay Horsham District Council

Chesworth Farm: Chilly livestock check but all safe, happy and water troughs defrosted 🥶🐮 #conservationgrazing #OurDay Horsham District Council

A site visit to Sandgate Park to meet our Volunteer Group Leader John to discuss the management targets for this winter. Also found Rhododendron in flower in November!!! #OurDay Horsham District Council

All this wet weather has been good for some. The Gatwick Greenspace team spotted this pair of #friskyfrogs on their way to add some #spawn to Friends of Chesworth Farm pond. The Warden

Our fantastic volunteers have been busy planting again Friends Of Horsham Park. Thanks to Horsham District Council for supplying and nature has watered them in. Should be lovely next spring ❄️💧😊
