Pretty sure I spotted a female field cuckoo bee on my lunchtime walk, however I'm aware they usually appear in April. I saw it flying away and the tail was very distinctive, not like one I'd seen before. Currently in the process of learning bee ID #bumblebee #bee #fieldcuckoobee

Yesterday I found one of Britain's rarest beetles, the flame-shouldered blister beetle (Sitaris mularis) in Verwood, Dorset. These beetles are kleptoparasites of the hairy footed flower bee and have only been recorded on a handful of sites. Recorded on I record Buglife
