Still in hospital: 1. Had covid, it was grim. I felt and was poorly. Dr advised I didn’t cough as I had staples… which I was allergic to. Needless to say, coughs happened. 2. Sternum Fracture healing 3. Had my operation, but because my body is ‘weird’ (agreed upon clinical

I was first in a corridor labelled mini resus, then mini majors… on a trolley for 36 hours. They had to do ward care. This was in October. It’s way worse now by all reports. I’m on a ward now, but the thing that haunted me was that on the corridor in the way to the wards is

Update and advice needed: I’m an inpatient in an NHS England hospital (not naming it as it’s not staffs fault…) A ceiling panel of double thickness plywood fell two metres onto my shoulder a few days ago and dislocated my shoulder. It’s ill-fitting but has important valves

Thank you for everyone who has been in touch. I've had a rough year health wise. Thats why I haven't been working and posting. Small Snippets of my life in the last six months: 1. Uro sepsis 2. Sepsis 3. 2x sepsis related infections 4. Had my operation (three years of waiting,

Martin Lewis has quite a speech here lamenting how the BBC relegated consumer journalism to a section in The One Show, when such issues affect millions of lives

I’ve just cried for the last two days. I am absolutely broken. But I was so fortunate to have had days and days of face to face conversations, and days and days of zoom chats with Kathryn Bevis. She was an amazing human. Her work soared and her humanity shone through even more

Mackem Vote for a change. I’ve been ill for ten years and my god I’ve seen everything fall apart more year on year in that time. Who has been in office for that time? Yeah, vote for someone different. Whatever your opinion or political leaning.

I’d say 19,000 people waiting 3 days in A&E is a low estimate! I have had it happen twice in the last twelve months. If I hadn’t had my Carer’s with me on one occasion I wouldn’t be here. The assumption was made by the department that I was normally bed bound and couldn’t speak.

A and E staff didn’t even have enough time to clean the resus bed space. There was someone else’s blood in a huge puddle on the floor. There was shit in the bed, which thankfully a paramedic wiped as otherwise, ew. There are ‘bed spaces’ in the corridors with a sign next to
