Ben Newmark GCSE history has always been the equivalent of sprinting a marathon. Huge content range, not enough time & if you don’t literally tell the pupils the stuff they’ll probably fail as an obscure question inevitably will come up. Challenging

So very sorry to hear of Helen Snelson's passing. Such a sad loss of a wonderful person who has inspired so many.

Tomorrow is my first day as subject leader, looking forward to the challenge and I was feeling really organised until I realised I forgot to buy a teacher planner.

I've made up my department welcome packs for tomorrow. Amongst the essentials like coffee, chocolate and stationery (of course) I've got the LambHeartTea (she/her) & Rachel Ball for the two ECTs and the Dr Haili Hughes FRSA for my co-mentor. Big couple of years ahead for the 4 of us!

Don't worry too much if you haven't done any planning, I've been doing it all summer and I'm still not finished anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️
