Nice to see some fabulous content (actually, as always) in History of War this month. It’s full of great Burma stuff from yours truly and Dr. Richard Duckett as well as great contributions from Mark Simner Mick Ryan, AM and others. It’s a first class magazine.

🧵(1/6) The latest Legion Magazine is out now, including four of my articles. The excellent cover feature, meanwhile, is by my friend Brad St. Croix (OTD Military History), detailing the life and legacy of Robert Hampton Gray, V.C. Read on to find out what's within.

Out now! Jack and Rob speak to Steve Rothwell of indiaburmasoldiers.co.uk - discussing the variety of units in, and come out of, the Burma Army. They were invaluable in the retreat, and then into the rest of the campaign - almost every action involved a Burma Army unit in some

In another of our historian interviews, we discuss the Burma Army with Steve Rothwell - they were a mixture of units made of a diverse force of locals, hill tribesmen, and expat British, Indian and Gurkha men.

Bravo to Robert Lyman 🇺🇦 and Jack Bowsher - Thunder Run: Meiktila 1945 on The Forgotten War Podcast: Burma Campaign WW2 for mentioning the “final charge of British Cavalry” at Toungoo in March 1942. I converted some Sikh Sowars (who apparently took part in the charge) from Perry Miniatures figures some years back. I’ll have to find them.

This week's fascinating chat with Steve Rothwell about the Burma Army focused on the sheer diversity of the men involved. British officers and men, Indian and Gurkha expats, and 'Burmese' men of the hill tribes - although usually not Burmars from central and southern Burma, many
