Just wanted to say that National Library of Scotland offer unparalleled image reproduction services of their collections. Premodern (out of copyright) material under a CC license, beautiful high-resolution, high-detail scans turned around in a few days for a completely reasonable fee. Thankyou!

I returned from my second maternity leave in August last year, with two smalls under 4, and my postdoctoral contract finally ends tomorrow. I have not had a single night of undisturbed sleep in that time. I feel like this photo ought to go into the acknowledgements of my book.
