Your Jewish friends are not doing ok right now. Even the ones who have spent years steeped in the conflict and who have been fighting for peace & human rights for all. The epigenetic trauma of seeing Jews pulled from their homes, kidnapped, & killed — it’s real. 1/

This does not take away from the real suffering of the Palestinian people, and the many other layers to the conflict and the region. But when we see people celebrating the massacre of Jews as “resistance,” that is not ok — and it does nothing to advance peace and safety. 2/

Anyone who celebrated this barbarity needs to reconsider. You can believe in Palestinian freedom, and decry that Israel is committing war crimes in return and has become an apartheid state, and still consider support for Hamas to be morally disqualifying.

This is really gross, for reasons beyond lacrosse. There is a very real homelessness epidemic across North America. People are struggling. Making light of that isn’t funny or clever - it’s mean-spirited and insensitive. Just…yuck. All around.
