Our Sea King helicopters are maintained in the hangar at our Portland heliport. Having our own location, spares supply and team of engineers makes us completely self-sufficient. #SAR #PilotTraining #HeliOperations

What do pilots do when something goes wrong? Many emergencies cannot be practiced in the aircraft, so a high-fidelity flight simulator is essential for effective training. This is ours, housed in our training facility in Cornwall. #Pilot #SARTraining #Simulator

Today, 11 November, we remember not just Armistice Day, but also the daring attack in 1940 by Swordfish biplanes on the Italian fleet at Taranto. It remains one of the many battle honours within the Royal Navy and the Fleet Air Arm

Visited our partners HeliOperations at Portland & Somerton, 🇬🇧. Great to see that ab-initio & captaincy training on #SEAKING are progressing well, while we can concentrate on #SEALION trng. Impressive also how the Sea King spares store & training infrastructure has evolved! 👍

Aviators with 820 Naval Air Squadron honoured the final wishes of WW2 Swordfish pilot George Gibb – casting his ashes into the waters over which he once flew. A service was held on HMS Queen Elizabeth recently as she made her way back through the Mediterranean royalnavy.mod.uk/news-and-lates…

Wonderful scenes at Irish Air Corps Baldonnel as 103 year old Battle of Britain pilot Group Captain John ‘Paddy’ Hemingway DFC dons his uniform to welcome RAF BBMF and his beloved Hurricane. Not many dry eyes on this occasion. Royal Air Force

Congratulations to @BWallaceMP on his reappointment as Defence Secretary. I look forward to continuing to work with him and Prime Minister Liz Truss to keep our country safe, support Ukraine and modernise the British Armed Forces to become even more lethal and deployable.
