The Peabody Awards are the new hot place to see downtown talent THRIVING: Tina Satter Tina Satter / Half Straddle won one for "Reality", as did most of the Debate Society, the dynamic duo of Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen, for "Somebody Somewhere" (also Star Trek won the Institutional Award🖖)

"All of Me"—oh my god. Madison Ferris, wonderful in Sam Gold's "Glass Menagerie," BLAZES in Laura Winters's play: she's wry, erotic, ferocious. The rest are also superb, but Ferris is an old-fashioned bombshell, a Mae West who uses text-to-speech tech as a comic tool (Closes Sun)

This is a little terrifying, but I had this book as a teen and had (and still have) the final couplet memorized. It just floats up to the top of my consciousness now and then unbidden.

This is titanic news. Theresa Buchheister is leaving Exponential ... and "return to NYC in the winter" sounds like this is a true departure. There is no one more crucial to NY's theatrical adventuresomeness than Theresa. I'm gutted...We MUST do something to keep our people here

Philip Arnoult, who never stopped scheming to get theatre folks to meet, collaborate with and fund one another. I saw him get frailer, but I never saw him diminished. Any opposition to his plans (geopolitics, war, reality, etc) just made him spin faster until . . . he disappeared

I feel every kind of way about this—frightened AND thrilled! Now, let's do a 3-d scan of WalkerSpace so we can recreate it exactly, down to that weird hole in the back, in a shipping container somewhere. There has never been a more perfect room....nytimes.com/2024/07/29/the…

These ideas about pricing from Kristin Marting, who has shaped the theatrical city so much from her spot at HERE, would be pretty wonderful to adopt from Broadway to BAM

I have never seen one episode, and yet I will read this, probably crying and, given Kathryn's immense persuasiveness, probably planting zinnias too

Theresa Buchheister and Billy McEntee in Interview Magazine touch on the immense heart and punishing effort required to make a place like the Buchheister-era The Brick (Brickheister?). interviewmagazine.com/theater/how-th…

so wonderful to talk to Alison Stewart, a great theatre aficionado, at All Of It With Alison Stewart about the theater coming up this fall: there's far too much to talk about, the harvest is HERE. wnyc.org/story/roxane-g…
