Bravo Carol Atherton! What a stunningly good book - powerful, passionate, erudite, entertaining & a vital reminder of why books & English matter. It should be required reading on every English ITT course & on every education policy maker’s reading list.
If you want to treat an English teacher for birthday or some other reason, then buy them this beauty by Carol Atherton Carol Atherton. It is wonderful. I don’t think there’s a book like it that captures what being an English teacher is about. Such a rich, thoughtful book.
