Year 5 are trying really hard with their handwriting and presentation!

Inspired by Hannah Hoch, Year 6 have created some amazing photomontage pieces!

Year 2 enjoyed taking photos with the iPads, ready to crop and edit later.

Year 4 had lots of fun testing materials in a circuit, to see if they were insulators or conductors. 💡⚡️

Well done to our two football teams last night playing at Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College The SSP East Riding the teams finished 3rd and 5th and showed some great skills and goals!

Year 2 have been creating texture using different tools in Art - ready for our Great Fire collage.

Year 2 have been describing theme park rides in their Talk 4 Write lesson! Would you ride on them?

We took 30 children to cross country this evening. The children did remarkably well and 4 children qualified for the East Riding finals! Well done to all involved 😊

Thanks to The SSP East Riding for delivering sports leader training to our Y5 sports leaders. They then ran a session for other members of the school and loved it!

Year 2 are busy sequencing the events of The Great fire of London

Our children loved this hoop game at lunch time, lead by our year 5 play leaders ☺️

Year 2 investigated which material would be the best for the sole of a trainer - we needed one which was bouncy for when we were doing PE, strong and waterproof. We found that the basketball bounced the highest so a mixture of rubber and leather worked the best 😀

In Year 2 we are annotating the poem ‘ Life doesn’t frighten me’. We started by working as a group thinking of expanded noun phrases for objects in the poem.

Year 2 went outdoors in Science to investigate which materials were used to build the school. Everyone used a magnifier to do close observations of the material texture and talked about the properties of the material and why it was fit for purpose.

In History,Year 2 were thinking about the reasons for the Great Fire spreading. We had different reasons for why it spread and we had put them in the order we thought best. There was lots of discussion and reasoning skills - 👏
