I've been doing a lot of retrieval this week and found myself going back to the Nazi slides I made last week. So, I've taken out the Nazi info, added a few more and made them into templates. Using retrieval practice as starters will become norm for me! drive.google.com/file/d/1jfO1pg…

School should be a place of safety for all children. While we welcome the Ofsted report, we need more than this – we need action. 2/6

My mum often ends up disappointed raiding my sweet tubs as they're mostly filled with dog treats or work stuff 😂 a few #FidgetToys here, good for #EmotionalRegulation and sensory needs. Today a pop it and good old fashioned stress ball were the chosen ones for a young person.

It's #ThriveThursday - celebrating the work of the Thrive community! 🌈 This week's contribution is from Kerry at Hagley Primary, where they have been making water bead emoji stress balls and calming sensory glitter water shakers. Thank you for sharing, Kerry!

At the end of every intervention at school I send home this plan for families to display at home. When we all work together around our CYP to support their emotional expression and acknowledge their feelings this is when change happens and most importantly is sustained.

Many kids went through trauma over the pandemic. This is a great resource to welcome them back! 🧡 📷Whole-Hearted School Counseling

Quiet on here as I settle back into teaching but just had to congratulate amazing @LynetteHarte on her new Creative Education role.Lyn did so much for wellbeing in edu nationwide during lockdown; connecting likeminded folk so we could do better together. Can't wait to see what's next🌟

This was brilliant, as always! Thanks for organising @LynetteHarte and thank you to the amazing @DrTinarae for sharing your expertise and time with our group. So many strategies to creatively reflect and journal. Loved the cake and rollercoaster ones! 🍰🎢

Inference lesson today: each group started with a pair of shoes and had to make inferences about the owner. Then, they were given a picture to develop their ideas. Finally, they had a section of a story to make further inferences about the character. Y6 were so engaged!
