This one’s another win for keeping our kids safe. The Governor just signed my bill AB 2534 into law, making it easier for schools confirm past instances of verified egregious conduct when making new hiring decisions. The vast majority of our teachers are amazing, so thank you.

Today, we take a moment to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. We recognize our veterans’ courage, commitment, and sacrifice in defending our freedoms. We thank each one of our nation’s veterans for their service to our country and to the free world.

It’s been one week since Election Day and most districts in CA know by now who their next representative will be. I am truly honored and humbled that the constituents of the 9th Assembly District have once again placed their trust in me to represent them. Thank you.

The annual Almond Conference is back in Sacramento this week and it’s always an honor to participate in these panels with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle to discuss how the state’s laws and regulations impact the almond industry and all agriculture in the state.

It was such a joy to welcome the fifth-grade class from Big Valley Christian School to our office and the Capitol! Watching their curiosity and excitement as they stepped onto the Assembly Floor was truly inspiring. Thanks to their teachers and chaperones for making it possible!

I’m so thankful that the Pro Tem is moving forward with this in a bipartisan way. It is incredibly important to protect the citizens of California and enhance the safety of the men and women of CAL FIRE. They know what to do—let’s give them the resources to execute.

Susan is a wonderful person and we had a fun time at the Capitol today while recognizing her as our district’s 2025 honoree for Woman of the Year. Susan has lived and worked and served in the community for 27 years and is very deserving of this recognition! Her bio’s on my FB/IG!

It’s not often we get to celebrate St Patty’s Day on the actual day-of here at the Capitol. It was great to have the kids from Kennelly School of Irish Dance here to put on an awesome performance!

I’m humbled by the support of our current Assembly GOP Leader and all our colleagues, as well as the outpouring of kind words I’ve received these last 24 hours. It will be an honor to serve as GOP Leader starting after the end of this current legislative session in September.

There’s a lot wrong with what we voted on today but specifically Lodi is proposed to be split into three different US House seats.
