This morning, I was proud to join Columbus City Schools, City Year Columbus, and the Columbus Crew to welcome students on their first day of classes! As an enthusiastic graduate of Columbus City Schools, I am always happy to support our public schools, teachers, and students.

Today, we remember the vicious attacks and loss of innocent lives on 9/11/2001 and the immense heroism displayed throughout our great nation. Last week, I had the opportunity to honor the victims and first responders by leading a prayer and planting flags at the Statehouse.

In recognition of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Senator Senator Hearcel F. Craig introduced the Suicide Self-Defense Act today. This legislation would give Ohioans another way to protect themselves with a commonsense gun measure.
