"The Committee notes the importance of individuals keeping their My Health Record up to date" One sentence completely destroys the reliability and usefulness of #MyHealthRecord. Most people think it happens automatically. It doesn't.

After 8 years #myhealthrecord is a failure. If it were a success, or even almost a success, NSW wouldn't need to do this: NSW Health goes to market for statewide single digital health record itnews.com.au/news/nsw-healt… iTnews Justin Hendry

My recollection (and the transcript abc.net.au/radio/programs… ) is that he was responding to a question on "an underlying medical condition" and he talks about getting "your diagnosis into the system" He was rather vague about the context of the advice though

"The #myHealthRecord is an infrastructure project that was politically motivated as a show pony project by a health minister many years ago ... and was out of date 10 years ago."

Do you suppose he knows that #myhealthrecord has no place for your medical history? A Shared Health Summary is a snapshot of your current status, not a history, although you might try and put a few words in it because there is nowhere else.

Why is Victoria creating its own Health Information Exchange? youtube.com/watch?v=8OkGpC… This is damning criticism of Australia's #myhealthrecord After nine years in operation and over $2billion wasted, Victoria is starting again.

The article doesn't mention #myhealthrecord, which isn't surprising as it was explicitly designed to not be a communication tool.

"If all the information is there, such as in #MyHealthRecord ..." I'd be very surprised. As it tells you when you log on, there will be no history. It was designed to be, and is, at best a summary system. Do have a look, it's probably empty

Worth a read, especially this bit: #MyHealthRecord affords some dynamic consent mechanisms, these typically rely on a digitally literate and engaged consumer. These tensions regarding consent sit uneasily with a national system that is unlikely to incorporate individual needs,
