Reflecting on the weighty ethics projects presented by Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine students at #MSRD2024. Challenges faced by those w/ #opioid use #disorder (#OUD) are many & I am grateful to work w/ 2 excellent students who plan to make a difference, Jenna Mustafa & Connor Wirth. #bioethics

They presented two great projects: one on mandatory holds after naloxone treatment, another on ethical considerations in prescribing opioids. Well done, Connor and Jenna.

Continuing to reflect on the interesting and important #ethics projects presented by Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine students at #MSRD2024. The impact of #AI on #healthcare is becoming significant, and good work is needed to better understand how it will affect the most #vulnerable among us.

I’m grateful to work w/ an excellent student who plans to make a difference. Gracie Jenkins presented on #AI in #child & #adolescent #psychiatry, arguing for the importance of the #human factor. We met years ago…in a research ethics course. (Go Rams!) Full circle moment.
