Over the Easter holidays, Derek had a great visit to the new Perth Museum and enjoyed exploring the displays, including the Stone of Destiny exhibit. Have you visited yet? What was your favourite part?
A great time was had by all last Friday at The 75 Appeal held by the Talyllyn Railway to support their Cronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol project, 'Preserving Our Past, Building Our Future'. Who doesn't love to see a steam loco in action, or even better, get to ride inside? ๐
Ruth & the team Talyllyn Railway are all set for an exciting day to launch The 75 Appeal, which will support the site's brilliant Cronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol project, 'Preserving Our Past, Building Our Future'. Click here to learn more: youtube.com/watch?v=1mEc-zโฆ.
We really enjoyed working with the team Strata Florida Trust -Ymddiriedolaeth Ystrad Fflur and playing a part in the planning process for this wonderful display telling the story of Mynachlog Fawr. Now open again for the season. Definitely take a look when you're in the area... ๐
We're excited to see everyone's photos of visits to Tลตr Marcwis | Anglesey Column since it reopened earlier this month. We loved working on the project all the way through from the first Cronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol application and developing new activities to producing and installing new interpretation.
To mark #InternationalWomensDay we want to talk about a pioneering female medic linked to Brecon Cathedral - Frances Hoggan (nรฉe Morgan), the first woman doctor to be registered in Wales. Brecon-born, her dad was curate at the cathedral. Lookout for her purple plaque in the town.
A bit of fun for #MysteryMonday today. Can you identify the two historic houses and parklands from these sneak peek photos...? We'll give you a clue, they're both in Wales.
Here's Headland's Director Ruth talking about her role in heritage with her former school Ripon Grammar School. @RiponGrammar
More hard work this week for the Headland team installing new displays at Mold Museum. New look museum opening soon... Keep a lookout for a launch date. ๐ aura wales Flintshire Council
#OnThisDay in 1918 Representation of the People Act granted women over 30 the right to vote. Brecon's 1st female mayor Gwenllian Morgan campaigned for women's rights & had strong links to Brecon Cathedral. One of many stories we'll be telling through the Cronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol project.
This time last week Ruth and Jennifer were heading to Brecon for a great couple of days talking to local people about the Brecon Cathedral Cronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol project. Here are a few snaps from a stroll around the cathedral complex - there's so much to explore.
Stuart was busy helping with the installing of new interpretation at Mold Museum last week. Here's a sneak peek. ๐ Keep a lookout for more details of when the new displays will be open to the public... They're already looking amazing! aura wales Flintshire Council
It's #StDwynwensDay today, the Welsh patron saint of lovers and daughter of Brychan Brycheiniog, king of mid-Wales. Rather fittingly, we spotted these beautiful Welsh love spoons y Gaer during our visit earlier this week for our Cronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol work with Brecon Cathedral.
It's #MuseumSelfieDay , so here are a few of ours from the past year: Penrhyn Castle NT/YG Castell Penrhyn, Hay Castle, Sain Ffagan | St Fagans and @NTPowisCastle . We think the Headland chaps need to get involved in the selfie action too! That's the challenge for next year.
Ruth and Ellie had a great time Talyllyn Railway on Friday exploring ideas for new interpretation and discussing the site's fascinating heritage stories with the team and local stakeholders as part of the railway's Cronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol project.
