Training too frequently can be counterproductive because of central nervous system (CNS) fatigue resulting from muscle damage caused by the previous workout.

I get asked all the time if sprinting comes before or after lifting....We prioritize our training based upon the speeds needed and consequently the CNS demand. No we never sprint after our lift. You won’t be fast when fatigued.

Sprinting is a phenomenal general preparation exercise to build power as a combat athlete. However almost all gyms prescribe sprints incorrectly. You need long rest periods. Otherwise it’s anaerobic threshold work. 2-5 min rest between reps. Not suicides with 0 rest

Here's how Caleb Tomac ended up in the Montana Mile and Macy Brandon in the Montana 100m. Recognizing a fellow Hi Liner as well in Regan Torgerson, a Shelby Coyote!

Good training doesn’t obsess over a single exercise, method, system. Every micro niche program that isolates one quality/exercise/tissue like fascia, tendon, functional, whatever, & tries to magnify its importance often signals one thing - a poor grasp of training fundamentals

Ever see a 300lb man hurdle? 👀 Werner Günthör Was A FREAK🤯 The 3X world shot-put champ was truly one of the greatest athletes to step on the track. Standing 6'7", the Swiss giant apparently had a 3.60m/11' 9.75" standing long jump!

Sprinting will drive weights, but weights won’t always drive sprinting. This isn’t a rule. It’s a useful heuristic. What I’ve seen over time is this…I’ve watched countless athletes get stronger in lifts without meaningful transfer to speed. But when athletes actually get
