We are saddened to hear of the passing of Viv Busby.

Alec Stock signed the striker in January 1970 and his first season culminated with scoring the goal that assured our promotion to the old Division Two.

Better known for his long career at Chelsea, the giant centre-half signed for the Hatters in 1984 after Paul Elliott's leg break but a hamstring injury, and the arrival of Steve Foster, ended his time at KR.

William Gracey 'Bill' Ford was born OTD in 1876.

Stirling-born Bill joined Town in April 1898 but a dispute over his playing position saw him leave after only one season to join Gravesend. He passed away in 1948.

In contrast, the side that started the LDV Vans penalty win over Brentford in October 2008 is by far the least experienced of recent times - with just 84 apps between them at kick-off!

Remembering Ken Hawkes, who was born OTD in 1933.

Born in County Durham, the rugged left-back's career at KR was stalled by National Service but once in the team he became a regular, including an appearance in the 1959 FA Cup final. He passed away in 2015.
