Rightly there has been much talk of money in relation to scrapping #FACupReplays . Let’s not forget the joy of seeing your humdrum team humble a big club. Some of my happiest Bristol City FC memories are of replays. Leeds in 74, Liverpool in 94, West Ham this season. Replays matter.
729 teams compete in the The Emirates FA Cup. Why is its format being dictated by the Premier League who represent c.3% of them? Why were EFL clubs not given a say? Why is the EPL even dictating whether replays are allowed in rounds they don’t participate in? Protest is needed! #FACup
The new @Wisden is out tomorrow. For Guardian sport, I've done a mini-memoir about writing for Wisden, then working for it, and finally becoming the shortest-serving editor in its long history – or, as one of the writers put it, 'Wisden's George Lazenby'

The Bristol Civic Society are a group of NIMBYs opposed to any development in Bristol. When a proposal is not tall, they object citing the housing crisis. When a proposal is tall, it's carbon emissions. A 🧵of their insane objections.
