YOU have not proposed the creation of any affordable housing at the site. The current plan was cooked up by HPD and NYC Health + Hospitals in 2019 as an attempt to shed the responsibility of maintaining the clinic, from which they receive little rent, off of their books.

Rather than work with the community to develop a proposal for the site, they instead secretly awarded it to a nonprofit with no experience in West Harlem.

When the community discovered the project in 2022 after residents reported seeing soil samples taken at the site, the first words out of H+H's mouth were "Um... I don't think you're supposed to know about that yet."

This is not how government is supposed to work. It presumes ill-will between the citizens of New York City and those (like you) who purport to be "public servants."
