NEW BLOG POST: NEW Flexible Working Law

'It can also help employers, as firstly employers who offer flexible working are seen as more attractive. Secondly, their employees will likely be more productive if it works for them.'

Mel Stride today said the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is 'thousands of pounds a month'

This is the sort of bare faced lie continually peddled by fabricating politicians in order to whip up hatred towards Disabled people.

Call it out journalists!! It’s your job!!!

I'm on the Guardian Politics Podcast talking about PIP and Benefits reform. (From 19 mins)

PIP is the thing that physically enables me to get to work as I lease my WAV via the Motability Operations scheme.

For those interested in podcasts Politics Weekly UK devotes the second half of their show to 'sicknote culture wars' with Hannah Deakin and Tom Pollard. It doesn't mention the UN report but it does discuss Sunak's 'moral mission' last week.

To do our bit for the kind of political journalism that involves the gap between speeches/posturing & real lives, half of tomorrow's Politics Weekly UK goes deep into the govt's latest attack on disabled people, with Hannah Deakin & Tom Pollard. Up at 5am!

Check out my clip on Channel 4 News on the government's aim to victimise disabled people alongside James Taylor Scope

Saying benefits are a 'lifestyle' choice is an insult.

What is it that has against disabled people & carers? Most disabled people were not born with their disability & disability can strike anyone, at anytime. Nobody is protected. This will push more disabled people into poverty and feels like survival of the fittest.

It was great to speak to around 70 ladies at Burhill Golf Club on Tuesday, sharing my story, talking about the great work of White Lodge and raising awareness and understanding of disability. Thank you to the ladies captain, Debbie for choosing to support White Lodge this year.

This is the kind of thing we want to stop here at Ax-ess. We need to all come together and start sharing the names and places so we can educate them in helping the disabled and making these places more inclusive to all!!

This is not accessible!
There are two issues:

1. I can't lift the tape high enough and hold it while I drive my powerchair through on my own.
2. It says 'authorised access only' and the accessible entrance with ramp is behind there.

Please be inclusive to all👩‍🦼🧑‍🦽

This is just TOTALLY unacceptable. What is it teaching the children?
Isolate and exclude SEN and disabled children more.
So upset to read this for parents and children involved.
And the fact this is happening on 2024.
