Had Geo students chart their “Math Story” and analyze using algebra. A favorite quote: “Although my math journey looks very negative and rough,…the harder I work, the more my interest level will rise and vice versa.”

Walks are good for the soul

Had a conversation with some students studying hyperbolic geometry yesterday. Me: How is it going? S: Our team watched a video and understood about 5%. Me: Hm. Ok… S: But each 5% was different, so I think we’ll be ok.

Chaos game and Sierpinski: 1. Take a random point inside of an equilateral triangle. 2. Find the midpoint between it and a random vertex. 3. Plot this point. 3. Repeat steps 2 and 3 using this new point. The result is quite interesting. 1st pick: 100 points, 2nd pick: 10000

So much to discuss here. Makes me wish I was still teaching statistics.
