Some say it's the best fireworks display in High Wycombe, and we couldn't agree more! What an amazing display! Thank you to the Friends of Hamilton and all the parent and staff volunteers for a brilliant evening!

Following our trip to the farm this week, Year 1 have been creating artwork inspired by farm animals! 🐷🐮🐥

Today the children spent the afternoon creating poppies after learning about Remembrance Day.

The children have been busy creating this week and have produced some wonderful art. On Wednesday we went for a walk, collected some autumn leaves and used them to create pictures of our local wildlife 🦔🐿

The children had an absolutely amazing day on Friday at our “Festivals of Lights” day - thank you Miss Hynard! 🕯🪔🎇

The children learnt all about Diwali and why it is celebrated. They created and decorated their own Diva lamps 🪔

They also got the opportunity to learn about Advent which starts next week. They made their own advent wreaths and learnt the significance of each candle. 🕯

Finally the children learnt about Hanukkah which starts today! They found out why Hanukkah lasts for 8 days and created their own special menorah (Hanukkiah)

Year 1 have been working hard this week. In Topic the children have been learning the Christmas story and creating their own 3D nativity scenes ✨

And as we’ve see them a lot at Christmas we decided to find out about reindeer. The children wrote a fact they’d learnt and then made a standing reindeer to go with it! 🦌

Year 1 will be introduced to using the small programmable robot, the BeeBot - a perfect starting point for teaching control, directional language and programming. #PhysicalComputing

We were very fortunate to have Mrs Griffith come and read us a story on her very last day at Hamilton Academy. We will all miss you very much!
