GIANT SNOWMAN: #Milton man builds a giant snowman — almost 10’ tall, spanning 2 front yards as tribute to his late father, saying ‘he loved building snowman - although they weren’t as big as this one.’ It took about 20 hrs over 3 days!

COYOTE SIGHTING: Spotted this coyote roaming the front yards & driveways along Douglas St. in the Lakeshore/Walkers Ln area #BurlON — turns out City of Burlington had received several reports — prompting a safety alert for Ward 2 and Palmer neighbourhoods.

NATURE WALK: Oakvillegreen held a guided nature walk thru the wooded trails of Shell Park #Oakville — with a few tree hugs along the way. Walkers looked for any sign of SPRING on this blustery day! All part of a Green Connections program for adults 55+.

EASTER SP’EGG’TACULAR: Hundreds hopped on down to Museums of Burlington Ireland House for their Sp’egg’tacular Easter event with lots of smiling faces & lots of Easter eggs to find along the bunny trail — a little more challenging with todays graupel !

FULL BLOOM: The cherry blossoms are out in Spencer Smith Park #BurlON — attracting hundreds of visitors to the waterfront park to take in the annual springtime floral event. They won’t last long — blossoms are near their peak!

PROM SEASON: Once again the HDSB is holding their ‘Fashion Forward’ initiative Elsie MacGill SS — providing students with donated new or gently used formal wear for their prom/graduation, not just dresses or suits but also shoes,shirts,ties & accessories all for FREE!

SOCCER DOME DESTROYED: #Milton Indoor Turf Centre collapsed during last week’s winter storm/high winds causing substantial damage to Town of Milton dome — CLOSING it for the season, leaving several local soccer programs affected incl Milton Soccer Academy . St Francis Xavier CSS

GONE TOO SOON: Former Burlington Fire Dept Platoon Chief Clint Smith laid to rest, after passing away last week w/family by his side. The longtime Aldershot resident spent almost 36 years with BFD, retiring in 2015 — always approachable, friendly and helpful!! RIP.

REMEMBERING ERIKA: #Milton Heights Racing Club skiers/coaches remember former racer w/the Erika Lamb Snowflake series race Glen Eden .The #BurlON 16 y/o #MHRC ski racer died in 2015 in tragic skiing accident.Her mom & dad in attendance — hope to raise organ donation awareness.
