Huge thanks to Tim Nutbeam and Rob Fenwick for the kind invite to attend The EXIT Project consensus day today. The work they have done will quite simply inform the biggest changes to road traffic collision management and ensure better patient outcomes. It’s significance is huge👏

From what we saw today, I think it can! Moreover I think we can simplify extrication to the point where very little “special language” is needed at all. Thanks to Tim Nutbeam for an excellent day. Great to catch up with Ian Dunbar OBE too!

Excellent pearls and pitfalls on ketamine sedation in this thread. Highly recommended, no matter how experienced!

3. Change the imagery of prehospital critical care.

How often do you see images of serious looking clinicians, stood arms folded, frowning?

I get it, we do a serious job, but it doesn’t always look that friendly when in reality it requires bucket loads of compassion & care.

An amazing learning experience. Gained so much knowledge in multiple areas. A great & knowledgeable team and the factually we’re top of their game. Different level of course. Many things to take forward. Even put them into practice on the way home from the course

Another thought-provoking talk by Dr Kevin Fong at today’s Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex clinical governance day today, this one about systems. “We should continue to have infinite curiosity about our failures; which is not the same as believing we can, or must, solve them all.”

Today we remember the courage & sacrifice of Winchman Billy Deacon.

26 years ago today, he tragically gave his life, while rescuing the crew of the Green Lily. He saved 10 lives that day, but lost his own moments after ensuring the last crew members were safe.
