Cook called FR OH Skyler Pierce's performance 'awesome.'

'First swing was a little shaky, then she had some great swings. She hit almost .400, and the great thing is she was aggressive and she was going after it. That's what you want to see from a freshman in this environment.'

John Cook on Lindsay Krause, who led the Huskers with 12 kills today: “I think she's still a long ways away from where she was when she got hurt last fall. She's making progress, but she's got a whole other level she can go to, and she will by the time we get to August.' #Huskers

John Cook considered redshirting BHS Volleyball grad Olivia Mauch when the staff was recruiting her, but today he said she's too good not to play.

Cook: 'She's a player. Nothing fazes her. She's a great passer. She has a chance to really help our team this year.'

John Cook on Harper Murray: 'A lot of that's out of my control right now. It's in other people's hands, so I really don't know.'

Q: What is her status?

Cook: 'I don't know. Hopefully she's going to finish her finals; that's the main goal right now.'
