I'm sad and sorry to say, our wonderful friend Wendy Pettifer has passed away. Wendy was a Housing Lawyer for over 30 years, she also did amazing work for Care for Calais. Wendy helped so many of our residents via myself, with housing advice. Truly gutted. Rest in peace Wendy x

Absolutely gutted that Wendy has left us. From 1st day I arrived at HCLC in Feb 2011 for a 3-month volunteer stint (ending up working there for 7 years), Wendy was a staunch friend & mentor. These are some of my fav memories of W. I love that she got to visit Dominica (1st pic)❤️

Wendy was a great campaigner and used her legal skills to fight for the rights of people who most need our support. She was always incredibly generous with her time and advice. A huge loss.

Hackney PSC pay tribute to one of our dear comrades, Wendy Pettifer, who died last week. Wendy was a solid campaigner for the rights of the Palestinian people and for justice and equality for all. She will be sadly missed by all of us who knew her.

Very sad to hear of the passing of my former colleague Wendy - a good heart & an excellent lawyer. We were thrown together when Hackney Community Law Centre was in a bad shape - and we both played our role in digging it out of a financial mess. Tenacious, principled & funny. Rest in Power⭐️

Hackney Community Law Centre Thank you so much for this tribute to Wendy. I miss her dearly, Wendy has been my mentor the past 10 years. She created light in dark times with her knowledge and compassion. Incredible lady, friend, comrade, community activist and solid socialist. RIP Wendy Pettifer 💔

Fitting tribute to our wonderful comrade in Hackney South, Wendy Pettifer. All of us have our own stories of Wendy and of the solidarity she always demonstated to those engaged in struggle for a better world, either here at home or across the world. She will be truly missed.

Nearly two in five parents on lower incomes said they would find it either difficult or impossible to afford a day out with their kids this summer, such as to the beach. There will be more worry than wonder this summer for millions of desperate families who can’t make ends meet.

We're worried that upcoming UC cuts will affect many disabled people who will never be able to work because of their conditions. The government must clarify how it will ensure that disabled people with severe conditions will be protected. Read more👇 thesun.co.uk/money/36084381…
