This is downright cruel. The families have been through hell.

I always think that calls to stop the NHS being treated as 'a political football' makes as much sense as saying calling for 'footballs' not to be treated as 'footballs'. The NHS is an inherently political construct - and its strengths and weaknesses flow from that fact.
