Super resources to understand (the massive importance of) cognitive load when designing and delivering instruction. ow.ly/qSSO50vnIp6 K12 focus but very readable.

This research on how many answer choices to use is fascinating! >RT Donald Clark: The most ignored piece of research on MCQs is the 3 option rule... Rodriquez and Vyas... bit.ly/2vdspsp

Multiple studies show that ppl who look up info on the Internet assume that they now have accurate/ nuanced domain knowledge. Yet in reality all they have is increased confidence, confusing that what's on the web is now in their heads. (The Knowledge Illusion, Sloman & Fernbach)

Duh! Nuffield Foundation found that it’s not the medium (here digital technology) that makes the difference in learning but rather the pedagogy. Maybe people will listen to this better than they listened to Dick Clark who wrote this in 1983, though I doubt it! nuffieldfoundation.org/sites/default/…

I actually think this type of question assumes too much. Not everyone fancies to have friends at work and in the Gallup index the assumption is that you're more engaged when you have a best friend at work and less when you don't. Says who?

Now available a sneak peek into my upcoming Presentation Science Workshop. Please share and let me know what you think! I always do my own stuff, and I like it, but I'm too invested to see my blind spots. Live to learn! presentationscience.net/sneak-peek

My visit to NEMO Science Museum today was a nice reminder of the importance of science. So many things in our day to day life have explanations that are completely counter intuitive. If it wasn't for science, we would rely on our intuition and have even more misconceptions.
