On this day in 1920, Canada became a founding member of the League of Nations. The League was a new experiment in international governance; though it ultimately failed, it would be the forerunner to the United Nations.

Congratulations to this Veteran couple who celebrate their 100th birthdays this year and their 80th wedding anniversary. Thank you for your service and for showing us the true power of love.

Did you know that Winnie the Pooh was an orphaned bear adopted by Major Harry Colebourn, a soldier with the Canadian Army Veterinary Corps during the First World War? He travelled overseas with Major Colebourn until he ended up at the London Zoo years later
