Last week HMS Pegasus said goodbye to Lieutenant Commander Steve Barratt, who has retired after over 45 years service in the Royal Navy and Royal Naval Reserve

Based at RNAS Culdrose Steve played a key part in the transition to HMS Pegasus

Today marks 75 years of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation ensuring the collective defence of its member countries through political and military means

The Royal Naval Reserve Air Branch has been involved in supporting NATO and will continue to do so

#OTD on April 3rd, 1980, the Royal Naval Reserve Air Branch was formed to provide flying training for ex Royal Navy aircrew officers to prepare for recall to service. We honour our legacy and look forward to many more years of service to the skies! ✈️

#OTD on the 2nd of April 1982 The Falklands War began when Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands 🇫🇰

255 British service personnel died, and many more were wounded. Today we remember all that were lost in service of their country 🇬🇧🫡

#OTD on the night of 24th March 1944, 76 POWs escaped from Stalag Luft III in Poland, including many Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm personnel. 73 were soon captured with 50 of them being executed.
