'just the ticket' installed in South Cliff Gardens , scarborough you can find it by going through the pedestrian tunnel under the cliff lift track where you'll be greeted by a collection of colourful tramway tickets... i'll share some of my faves and their stories over coming days.

'just the ticket' - a new artwork in South Cliff Gardens , #scarborough each ticket invites you on a journey: we invited visitors to the gardens to condense a treasured memory into a micro poem and hand-print them as a cliff lift ticket. these became the text for the artwork.

'just the ticket' was inspired by the spa cliff lift - 150 years old this year. the blue panel uses text that was on the roof of the bottom station (see b&w photo). i copied the style of lettering & rearranged it in a ticket format. the numerals are the route's height & gradient.

With regret we have had to cancel our planned Big Garden Birdwatch this Friday due to the likely-hood of extremely strong winds caused by Storm Eowyn. We doubt our feathered friends will be making much of an appearance & must prioritise everyone's safety.

Sheltering from the wind in the Italian Gardens, built 1914 & restored recently, in Scarborough's South Cliff historic (listed) gardens. The pergola shelters are classical loggia design. Mercury stands in the central lily pond... & in this weather needs to get some clothes on!
