Aufforstungen von drainierten sind keine Option für die Renaturierung von Mooren. Es ist unklar, ob die -Bindung von Holz die Ausgasung organischer Böden überhaupt kompensieren kann.

A nice, but sad illustration.

Farmers in rural areas are one of the first victims of biodiversity decline and climate change!

It's long been a question: could all of humanity actually live within the Doughnut? Thanks to Hauke Schlesier et al it's just been quantified for the 1st time. And the answer is probably yes - if we transform to economies of sufficiency. Read more here: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

If someone told you that there is a super-efficient way to reduce GHG emissions, what would you say should be done?
''25% of total GHG emissions are from drained peatlands that only make up 3% of the agricultural land in the EU''.

News:
'Low-intensity grazing is locally better for biodiversity but challenging for land users'.
Led by Julia Rouet-Leduc, as part of GrazeLIFE project, we found that land-users engaging with sustainable grazing are struggling, especially with the CAP.

Who defines the agenda of ? Do they have room for own decisionmaking process, or is it merely an implementation body?

April-frost, also known as 'false spring', offers the first wave to devestate harvests in central Europe.
I'm wondering how the removal of GAEC standards should help farmers cope with this.
(Hint: it won't).

Interesting picture: a 'farmer' (or politician?) in a monoculture, to celebrate the release from standards.

In parallel we already see pictures of damaged fields and orchards and hear farmers crying about the severe damages by extreme weather.
More of the latter to come.

I get goose skin when reading the words ''food security & ecological transition'' from the person who'se standing behind the systematic slashing of EU's policies with regards to the environment - the best way to drive ecological collapse, yield losses, and risk food security.

However, when one considers the impacts of land-use change and climate change combined, declines occur again all over the world. The declines from climate change are more homogenous than the declines from land-use change reflecting their spatial autocorrelation patterns. 10/#
