Four teachings from the Sikh way to find spiritual inspiration in nature: 1. Kamal - Rise above the swamp like the lotus 2. Suraj - Warm all like the sun 3. Pavaan - Be steady like the wind 4. Chandan - Improve those around you like the sandalwood tree

Kamal - Rise above the swamp like the lotus flower 🌸 Just as the lotus flower thrives in the murky depths of the swamp yet rises above it, so too should we strive to live in this flawed world, aspiring not to be marked by it but to rise above.

Suraj ☀️ - Give warmth to all like the sun. The sun does not discriminate in sharing its warmth; whether loved or hated, it provides equally for everyone. Similarly, the Sikh way teaches us to offer comfort to all, recognizing the Oneness in everyone.

Pavaan - Have steady patience like the wind 🌬️ The wind blows gently upon all, reaching high and low alike. The Sikh way teaches us to offer the same consistent treatment to everyone, regardless of false notions of status. We should embody steady patience like the wind with all.

Chandan - Make those around you fragrant like the sandalwood tree. 🌳 The sandalwood tree exudes an aromatic essence, sharing its fragrance with all nearby. The Sikh way encourages us to embody this quality, serving as a beacon of goodness that inspires others to become better.

Commit to battling the 5 enemies: lust, anger, greed, attachment, and egotistical pride. But to win the war against them, the Sikh way teaches us to arm ourselves with the weapons of meditation and service. By doing so, we cultivate the inner peace and spiritual growth we seek.

They’ll think you’re insane when you choose the path of the Spiritual Warrior. Rejecting materialism, embracing discipline, & striving for inner peace often looks like madness to a world enslaved by the ego. But true insanity lies in ignoring our true nature & collective oneness.

Ek Man Ek Chit: One-Pointed Focus of the Mind Ever find your mind wandering during meditation? The Sikh Way teaches that by continually meditating on the Oneness, we reign in our unfocused mind, develop one-pointed focus on the Divine, and receive the peace we seek.

The partition of India was the largest mass migration in history. 14 million displaced. Over a million killed. Punjab split in half, countless families torn apart. The trauma still haunts us. I won’t celebrate today - I will remember, mourn, and never forget.

It's been 13 years since Jack left us. In tough times, when some seek to divide us by where we were born or who we love, Jack taught us to respond with love, hope, and optimism. He would have been proud of what we've accomplished: Pharmacare. Dental Care. Support for workers.

Jujna: Life is a battle, find victory in the struggle. The Sikh Way of the Spiritual Warrior teaches us that true victory comes from committing to the struggle, while knowing the ultimate outcome is not in our hands. The real win is in not giving up the fight.

The Sikh way and social justice: We are all One. The injustices, oppression, and pain others face impact us all. Our belief in Oneness inspires Sikhs to fight for the upliftment of all, defend the environment, and work to build a better world.

Every day is a battle, every moment a struggle—commit to being a warrior. But temper this warrior spirit with compassion and love, cultivated through spiritual development, to truly fight against what prevents us from being our best.

The deal is done. The Liberals are too weak, too selfish and too beholden to corporate interests to stop the Conservatives and their plans to cut. But the NDP can. Big corporations and CEOs have had their governments. It's the people's time.

29 years ago today, Jaswant Singh Khalra was abducted, tortured, and later killed by Indian security forces for exposing the Indian government’s genocide of Sikhs. Today, we honour his legacy by sharing his mission and continuing to raise awareness of the Sikh Genocide.

Jaswant Singh Khalra was murdered by the Indian government for uncovering the mass genocide of Sikhs. Sikhs were killed in ‘fake encounters’ by Indian security forces, and their bodies secretly cremated. Today, we honour him and continue the fight for justice.

The 5 Thieves: These are the forces that prevent us from realizing our Oneness & understanding that we are all interconnected. They pull us closer to our Ego & keep us from recognizing that within us lies the joy & contentment we seek. By conquering the 5 thieves, we find peace.
