The little visited landing beach for 9 Canadian Brigade near Hoofdplaats. They outflank several German positions, having embarked near Terneuzen on Oct 9 1944. With a lengthy 1/2 day training on their new mounts. LVT or Buffaloes would swim them at 7mph up to the beach.

The last battle of #WW2 for many Canadians was a short and sharp one in Groningen. Left largely untouched by war, we can today enjoy its old streets and canals. Had to use a bike #obvs

Well, no chemo today. My main chemo med is toxic to the heart and there are concerns that I may have reached my limit. I’ve been referred once again to the cardiology team. Back to the Marsden next Monday. I’m grateful for the team’s caution but it’s very frustrating.

Another team manhandle a second mortar in the right foreground. This forms part of a long line of captured German artillery pieces stretching along the road, with numerous civilians walking amongst the guns. Pencil, ink and watercolour on paper by Henry Rushbury. IWM, ref ART1135

Donald Trump has done more to help Russia win in Ukraine in the last 4 days than they have achieved in 3 years! The question is why? Every Republican Senator should look in the mirror and ask why? And who for, not America! JMO theguardian.com/world/2025/mar…

Having recently read " What Happened" by Adrian Bean. I paid my respects to the unfortunate 6 Polish Airmen on Wellington K1017 of 305 Squadron buried at Newark Cemetery after a mid air collision with the Author's Uncle WW Parkinson on 12th June 1941.

Not all battlefield tours are the same. Our clients keep returning to us for more innovative, friendly and balanced trips. It doesn't have to be the same old coach trip. #HamCheeseorPate We use 4x4 where needed, walking options, boat trips and much more to see the battlefields
