Very tired of hearing about what the intentions are. If a system constantly produces a different outcome than the one it is "intended" for then it's perfectly reasonable to assume the actual intention is the outcome it continues to produce.

Permaculture has multiple elegant solutions to the overuse of water. Most of these come from or are informed by brilliant indigenous designs. #waterislife #indigenouswisdom #holisticsolutions

Hazelwood can be cut from the same plant every 5+ years for over 100 years. The plant lives longer when it is coppiced! The wood has many uses, plus there are valuable nut harvests. Hazelnuts have been used in "fedges" (food hedges) for 100s of years in UK. #naturalsolutions

Even a small patch of bee-friendly flowers can help ensure bumblebees can survive. Plant them and enjoy the beauty! Bumbles love our African basil, asters/sunflowers, squash blossoms and more.

There are so many advantages to this approach, hard to list them all. Use your community connections to do this, or find people who have them, and do it with them. #regenerativesolutions

Belgium has seen big growth in urban biking in recent years. According to a new survey, 39% of Belgian commuters used a bike or scooter in 2023, a 6% increase in just 2 years. I was proud to work with Belgian state & city leaders back in 2019 (see thread) vrt.be/vrtnws/en/2024…

The math shows that there are dozens of regenerative solutions that cost far less than degenerative bad habits. Don't listen to people who say it's too expensive to live ethically or healthy. They just don't know any better. #regenerativeliving #designforlife

trees have a significant ability to cool down hot areas. Don't cut down older trees - their value cannot be replaced! And plant more trees.

We need to connect with one another, look each other in the eye ,hang out in public places together, walk, smell flowers, hear the birds. Opportunities like this are essential in crowded cities for our health.

We're on a race track toward destruction. "But it's fun!" Jevon's paradox? Seems a lack of sufficient discipline and awareness for this particular moment in our history. What other energy hogging technology can we create? Let's go!
