With help from Rachel & Noel, Ragna discovers the truth of Celica's origin: Phase 0, through the Boundary. He confronts Kokonoe about using Celica's soul as a catalyst for the Lynchpin; affirming that Nine could only turn the tides of the Dark War because she rejected that idea.

Unlimited Celica rides in on a more powerful Minerva, toting more powerful upgraded versions of special attacks while casting stronger white magic. Her healing ability is now so potent that she can create restore spots, use a healing DP and even passively regenerate while idle!

One of the few group interactions in BBTAG takes place in any match between Ragna, Jin, Noel and Celica. The brothers are bickering again and Celica takes it upon herself to force them to stop, unwittingly dragging Noel into the mess.

Interestingly, this quirk of his Astral does not activate in BBTAG versus Hazama or Susano'o. It is unknown whether or not this pertains to the story, as the real Yuuki Terumi is not present in this game, or if the easter egg was just cut from gameplay altogether.

Of note, there are other gameplay quirks that exist in TAG. Mai for example can heal from Teddie's Mystery Food X item where it otherwise poisons everyone else.

Years after the Dark War ended, Jubei would stay with Nine and Celica for an extended period of time, and would assist in building the church away from civilization. Eventually, Celica would officiate their wedding there and Kokonoe would be born not long after. [🎨: Yuki Kato]

During the BB Phase Shift 4 novel, one month after the Dark War concluded, Celica would find a lone mirror in the basement of the Ishana Cathedral. She left soon after, but the reflection inside came alive and the reflection's soul would be copied by Kokonoe in Chronophantasma.

After Nine activated Requiem to halt Doomsday for a week, Ragna, Celica & co. were transported to a version of the church that he grew up in within the Embryo. When the group was ready to leave, Celica stayed behind and disappeared, her copied soul's life force having depleted.

When the Calamity Trigger novel written by Mako Kamao came out in 2013, the illustrator Yuki Sugiyama expressed thanks for the success of the Phase Shift novels prior, and to the editors of this book. This illustration remarks how Kamao gave extra detail to Ragna's beginnings.

During Valkenhayn's CF Arcade Act 2, he gets separated from Rachel in the Embryo and runs into Naoto. He threatens to "kill Naoto again" if he doesn't cooperate in sharing information, referencing how Naoto "died" at his hands in Bloodedge Experience, but was revived by Raquel.

In an unused BBDW side story, Young Valkenhayn looks to enter a fighting tournament being held in the shopping district of Shin Kawahama City from BE. When asking about the battlefield, he's pointed to an arcade cabinet, one for fighting games and he loses to Naoto in Round 1.

During BBCF Act 3, Valkenhayn begins to act on his own accord. He encounters Hazama by chance, and sensing that Terumi isn't in his body, seizes the opportunity to kill the vessel. Hazama tips him off: Telling him that killing the other Onlooker instead may extend Rachel's life.

While on his own in CF Act 3, Valkenhayn encounters Ragna and swallows his pride. He entrusts Ragna with Rachel's safety in the event that he can no longer serve her. Ragna insists that he was going to do that anyway, and Valkenhayn sincerely thanks him.

Valkenhayn's CF Arcade Act 3 ends in a confrontation against Amane. While he harbors no ill will toward him, he tries to take Amane's life to extend Rachel's. Amane implies that even if he were slain, Rachel's Onlooker position would eventually be taken by someone else.

The aftermath to this scene is also the last time Valkenhayn appears in the main game's story. He would finally be seen in the credits sequence, pouring one last cup of tea for Rachel.

⚠️CW: Blood⚠️ Valkenhayn's JP VA, Motomu Kiyokawa, had passed away in 2022 at the age of 87 due to pneumonia. He was a long and storied actor in other anime and theater. One such major voice role aside from BlazBlue, was Walter C. Dornez in the anime adaptations of Hellsing.
