Virginia Giuffre's book reminds us that a lot of respected and powerful people are simply unworthy and detestable. I lived through a time when Graham James was The Hockey News's "Hockey Man of the Year". Remember that the next time you celebrate a stranger.

Being shamed for how you’re healing from abuse is abuse. This includes being told to have a different emotion or reaction to the memory. In order to heal, a survivor must feel empowered to honor their truth. To tell them how they have to feel, is again, taking their power away.

Our back entrance doubles as Stephanie’s studio. She’s explaining to me what’s left to do to finish this one, “Yukon”. Her third oil painting. Just starting detail in the foreground.

We were out last night. There is nothing as magical as the sound of the note the orchestra plays as the lights go down just before things begin.

My wife is “How many years since the Leafs won the Cup?” years old. To put that in perspective, she’s mostly retired now.

The responses from the teacher are chilling, his attempt to manipulate, to position himself as a type pf victim, to slither out of responsibility. Just as bad: the wall of silence from the schools and teacher association. Stop lawyering up and start standing up for what is right!

Oh the things that used to bother me and incite my anger. But now I’m old. Where once I used to think I had so many answers, now I have questions and want to understand more as I look at everything with wonder and amazement.

Want a better world? Move the World Economic Forum from Davos, Switzerland to Flint, Michigan. Have the elites stay in local housing and no bottled water. The real world is different than it looks from five star hotels.

Anyone involved along the way who found this man to be in good character should be ashamed. Finally some common sense. Man who sexually abused kids blocked from becoming Ontario lawyer. Court of Appeal rejects 'good character' decision - Toronto Star apple.news/ASRMmHBgUTb-lL…

This world of ours is only getting stranger and stranger. I guess the thing to remember is that there’s nothing anybody can do to keep you from being you and true to your values.

I kinda miss the old Cold War Olympics, when the world was a bit bigger and we knew far less about lands far away. But this is cool.

Associating with and supporting people after you know who they are is a serious breach and an insult to victims. May the Epstein files show those who remained loyal to Graham James just how awful they are.

Greg Gilhooly (@greggilhooly) 's Twitter Profile Photo

As with Epstein, there are people who remained loyal to Graham James long after it was known who Graham really was, including people who were honoured and who rose to the highest level. They did, and do, their best to discredit, shift blame, or outright deny. Shame on them.

I like the Olympics just like as a kid I liked the Eurovision Song Contest, Monty Python, old movies, the Grey Cup, and election night coverage listing the names of far-off ridings: they all made the world seem bigger while spurring wonder and imagination.
