The Police Helicopter was involved in a multi agency rescue last night when a person entered the River Clyde and got in to difficulties. The crew was able to locate the person in the darkness and assisted in guiding HM Coastguard and Police Scotland Inverclyde to the location. #Teamwork

Today we welcome our first fully electric Coastguard Response Vehicle which will be used by one of our full time officers based in Greenock. The vehicle has joined our growing fleet of Hybrid or EV’s which support HM Coastguards future Greening plan. #999coastguard

Congratulations to the 02/2024 Inverclyde Fire skills Course. Delivered in partnership with Inverclyde Council Inverclyde CLD @policescotland @greenockcrt Great effort and achievement gaining important life skills including Safety, CPR, Discipline, Respect, Communication and Teamwork.

This morning saw Coastguard Rescue personnel + Coastguard Counter Pollution personnel & partners take part in a multiagency exercise on the Clyde. The event was to test and exercise multiagency alerting and mobilisation in the event of a pollution incident on the River Clyde.

Rapidly rising water can trap you with little or no warning and no easy escape route. Always check the tide times before visiting the coast and take a mobile phone with you in case of an emergency. If you get cut off by the tide, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
