Many people have the wrong idea that rewilding means doing nothing, that it requires no input. But in reality ecosystems usually need help in undoing *human* damage, whether by controlling invasives, blocking up drains, etc. Otherwise just stand back, let it happen.. and enjoy.

The Rusty Back Fern has rusty scales on the backs of its leaves. These cover the spore-producing sori and probably help prevent the fern from drying out. During dry spells the fronds roll in at the edges.🌿 📸flickr.com/people/maccann…
