My speech today at the steps of Stormont alongside Save Lough Neagh campaign. The Stormont Executive is a public health risk to us all. The Lough Neagh Action Plan isn't worth the paper it is written on.

As we await the programme for government today let’s hope the Executive is brave enough to change this. ‘Public transport spending per head in Northern Ireland was £193, compared to £299 in Wales and around £465 in England and Scotland.’ bbc.com/news/articles/…

Cllr Flynn said "The Green Party has long campaigned for more investment in public services and active travel. We must start to address the huge disparity in public transport spending in NI compared to GB or the South.” greenpartyni.org/grand_central_…

Green Deputy leader Lesley Veronica said "While Tory austerity plays a role, these crises have been created or made worse by these 5 parties in their 26 years of on and off again government." Read more 👇 greenpartyni.org/programme_for_…

The five executive parties results of decades of poor governance, avoiding difficult decisions and making poor policy that degrades our environment. The (factory farmed) chickens literally coming home to roost.

The war on women in NI continues 😢😢😢 How many more have to die or live their lives being terrorised by out of control, violent men? When will we get a properly funded strategy to tackle this? Green Party NI WRDA

Really useful discussion tonight on the future of the Cathedral Quarter. Green Party NI will continue to push for regeneration with community at its core.

Alliance Party reps embarking on their biannual flogging of a dead horse policy around Sunday trading. We don't need more rampant consumerism around Xmas time. This policy is anti-worker and only benefits large companies. Support your local small/independent retailers.

Extending trading hours on Sundays takes away from little free time retail staff already have. We expect the most from those earning the least. Unions/Workers have been consistently against this. Follow other European cities in strengthening arts/cultural offering on Sundays.

Green leader Seanadóir Mal O’Hara (he/him) discussing the recent lack of NI executive programme for government commitments around active travel. The Green Party believes we need to invest more in active travel and public services in Northern Ireland, particularly new bus and rail routes & cycling.

Green Party NI (@greenpartyni) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The Green Party believes in devolving local transport powers to councils in NI, so councils can better deliver on active travel. Sinn Fein and the DUP refuse to even have that discussion in Belfast.

1 in 24 deaths in Belfast are attributable to toxic air, the Green Party believes in getting people out of their cars and investing more in active travel in our city. #GreenParty #ActiveTravel #AirPollution

Alliance have been flogging this horse for years. There is deliberate duplicity here. Smaller traders can open but currently many choose not to. This is only for Big traders to open longer times. A soulless shopping city from liberalism is not the solution.

. UsdawUnion has contacted every Belfast City Council councillor to state their opposition to a review of Sunday Trading Laws pushed through by Alliance & Sinn Fein last night. It's unpopular with staff & will harm those with caring responsibilities & less time to spend with families.

Cllr Kendall said "We see a continued failure to prevent puppy profiteers. Successive ministers have stood by, whilst puppies are left in squalid conditions, before being sold to line the pockets of profiteers." Read more 👇 greenpartyni.org/wealth_more_im…

I spoke with BBC Newsline earlier on the new & expanded Needle Exchange facility from Extern Charity who do incredible work. As Greens our message is consistent, Belfast City Centre needs an Overdose Prevention Facility. Save lives, improve collective community safety
