When I wrote Maggie & Me I felt our big battles had been won: equal marriage, protection in law, protection from the law. That was a decade ago. Revisiting my past for the play, I’ve watched the politics of hate return: a new section 28, hate crime spiking, ‘anti-woke’ vileness.

Started this on Saturday and cannot put it down Sinéad Gleeson … half way through and can’t wait for where the story will take me…it’s so visual and beautifully described that I keep imagining it as filmed scenes… I’m hooked and don’t want it to end…

This was an incredible adaptation of an honest book by the brilliant Damian Barr. The whole cast were outstanding as was the staging and set. But the story, being able to tell it - to notice & reflect other’s experiences through it - was raw, brave and inspiring. Go see 🖤
