Thanks to our friends at City Cruises we were recently offered the chance to carry out a slow speed transfer exercise.

Slow speed transfers are a vital skill for our crew to learn, it's a procedure carried out to transfer kit, crew and casualties whilst moving.

On Wednesday 3 April at 6:33pm, Gravesend RNLI was requested to launch by London Coastguard to a worker who had suffered a possible leg fracture onboard a Ro-Ro Cargo vessel at Purfleet Deep Water Terminal.

On Tuesday 26 March at 3:26pm, Gravesend Lifeboat was on exercise when HM Coastguard made radio contact to request their assistance to aid a sailing yacht that was drifting dangerously against wind and tide.
