A selection of insanely heavy crops of the Fea's/Desertas from the Scillonian crossing a couple of weeks ago, an incredible encounter.

A successful twitch to the East coast yesterday with great views of the Booby and a lively supporting cast.

A couple of my favourites from the most incredible week of birding I've ever experienced.

A couple of obliging birds from recent trips, Veery from a sadly shortened trip to Shetland and Northern Harrier from a quick visit to Cornwall.

A great twitch to Cornwall yesterday produced a couple of new birds for me, Azores Gull showing well and Upland Sandpiper which was more difficult but showed reasonably well after giving us the runaround earlier.

Ten years apart and at opposite ends of our archipelago, Cape May Warblers on Unst and Bryher.

A return to Abberton in the hope of better light for photography was sadly unsuccessful, a real shame as the forecast was good and the Canvasback showed well.

As 2023 comes to an end I'd like to thank all those I've twitched with, seen some incredible birds and places and made great memories. Finished the year with 17 lifers and 364 for the year.

A great start to the new year, the Northern Waterthrush showed well on several occasions throughout the day.

Superb views of the Golden Oriole in Cornwall at the weekend, an incredible winter record.

Great views of the Myrtle Warbler yesterday at Kilwinning. Ten years since I last saw one and nice to get some images of this one.

Great to catch up with some rare and scarce ducks this weekend in decent weather for a change. Thanks to the members at Woolston Eyes for access being made available to non members.

Bufflehead showed well yesterday but a little distant for pictures, pleased to have managed a few record shots given the distance.

What a weekend ! Two days, two incredible birds.

Decent views of the Booted Eagle in Cornwall recently, good to grip it back after dipping previously in Cornwall and Berkshire. A great start to the new year.

Great day at Woolbeding for Honey Buzzard with multiple birds seen, difficult light for pics but two birds came close enough for decent record shots.

A return visit to Woolbeding produced one close flyby today.
